EarthStory:
18th Annual Community Gathering

August 15-22, 2008 (Friday-Friday)

Seventeen years ago we started meeting each year to celebrate our connection with Earth and each other. We gathered to share the joy and gratitude we feel for the natural world and to nurture our place in it. We also come to deeply listen and share our grief and struggles in this journey of being human, especially at a time of so many environment and societal wounds. We find that as we share our stories, Earth's story and our hearts, it is possible to rekindle hope and joy.

The site has an open field, outdoor kitchen, fire circle, solar showers, latrines and lots of room for tent camping in field or forest, all surrounded by thousands of acres of woodlands. All activities are held outdoors, with shade and escape from rain provided by MOTHER NATURE and a huge canopy tent.

An Earthstory day may include yoga or stretching, followed by a group sharing circle, games, healing processes, Deep Ecology, sweat lodge, Brethwork and small workshops led by both seasoned and new members of the community. People are supported to try out new things, or step into leadership roles if they wish. There is also the option of visiting the Medicine Circle, going for a swim, picking wild berries, getting to know new friends, or exploring and connecting with the beautiful and extensive land that is teeming with wildlife. Three delicious vegan meals are proved each day in the camp style setting. At the end of each day most folks gravitate to the Fire Circle to share music, songs, dance, drumming, stories and fun.
